DBS August sales
Wenesday, August 3rd
We purchased a lovely yearling by GRAPE TREE ROAD (see the pedigree) for £2500,
and a cracking 2yold TOBOUGG filly (see the pedigree) for £5000.

The two day DBS August Sales concluded with a set of figures that were someway adrift of 2010, largely due to the presence of the Findley/Barber drafts at last year’s sale, but the sale ended with a 77% clearance rate which was a marked improvement on last year’s figure and was accompanied by a Median that matched that of 2010.

August starts very well
Friday, August 5th
A good week with DEVOIR DE MEMOIRE winning the 65 000€ handicap at Clairefontaine on 2400 meters in great style on monday. He now has a mark of 96 and will have no opton bar aiming for Listed races . He should be good enough to play a major part in those races.
We purchased him as a yearling at the Arqana August sales for 27 000€.
On thursday HOPE ON EARTH finished 2nd for her first run in Norway since we sold her a couple of weeks ago. She will be one of the favourite for the big 2 yold race at Stockholm in september.
We purchased the daughter of FOOSTEPSINTHESAND for 12 000€ at the Osarus September yearling sales last year.
Saturday was a great day as CATHODINE CAYRAS lost her maiden in a good condition chase at Clairefontaine.
The daughter of MARTALINE has been placed in Listed races but never won untill today which was her first run for her new team, trainer Patrice QUINTON and owner Marie Louise KEMBLE.
We bought her at the Arqana mixed sales last month for 25 000€. Now you can say that she was very good value.

The same day BELGARDE won her third race in a row in 4 starts over hurdles. She was very impressive and this sister to BEL LA VIE is probably one of the best 3yold filly of her generation.
 We purchased her Dam in a claimer at Lisieux for 7 000€ and she has now bred 3 top class horses!!!!

More good results this week with both 2 yold that we purchased at the Arqana August Deauville sales running very well at La Teste.
Saturday, August 13th
KADYNY finished a galant 2nd behind THAW who is perhaps the best 2 yold of J.C ROUGET so far this year. ROSEBERY AVENENUE finished well beaten in thirs but was completely outpaced and she is crying for a big stepup in trip. She will be a good mare on the distance next year.

 BENVENISTE finished 3rd also at La Teste in a Ladies race.
MIBLEU defeated EXULTO in a 15000£ Steeple chase at Newton Abott. We purchased these two horses and MIBLEU despite beeing 11yold  display what was probably his carrieer best effort to deny EXULTO.. 

Another succesful day with no less than 3 winners today.  
Sunday, August 14th
LITIANINNE that we purchase for 2000€ at horses in training sales won the opener at Deauville and ANIMATEUR winning for the 3rd time this year in a handicap for amateurs at Vittel. ANIMATEUR was bought in a claimer for 6000€ and he now won 6 times for new connection.
On the Jersey Island LANDOLINO won his 2nd race on the flat since arriving at Joan Le brocq's yard in march. Joan has done a very good job with the 6yold gelding who could now have a future over obstacles in England. We bought him for 6000€ at the 2011 February mixed sales.

Arqana Yearling Sales, Day 3 : A good day for our purchase
Wenesday, August 23th
Consigned by the Haras du Hoguenet, the DYLAN THOMAS filly (lot 318) fetched €45 000 !!

Her dam LIL’S JESSY (KRIS)  won 3 races and was placed at the listed level at 2 years and won Nell Gwyn Stakes (Gr.3) at Newmarket at 3 years. She has already produced the black type PARIS WIND, Listed winner in USA and places 3rd at Blandford Stakes (Gr.2) in Ireland.

We purchased her €24000 at the Arqana Breeding stock sales in December 2010.
What a succesfull pinhooking !!

Monday, August 29th

LORD DU SUD is a winner of 10 races from 2 to 6 yold including the Grade2 Prix HOCQUART and Prix VICOMTESSE VIGIER both at Longchamp. He also won of 4 Listed races and been placed 6 times in Group races.

His first crop is now 2 yold and he covered 50 mares this year in France.
