Another succesfull yearling purchase!!!!
 
OKEBIBI, trained by Jean Michel Lefevbre, broke his maiden in his second start today in the Prix Saint James at Longchamp on 1800 meters.
Riden patiently behind the leaders by Olivier PESLIER, OKEBIBI hit the front a furlong from home to win easely in a fairly hot maiden.
 
We purchased him at the Arqana Ocyober Yearling sales for only 12000 €

THOUSAND STARS 2nd again in a Grade1 over hurdles at Punchestown

The 7 yold son of GREY RISK, back to 2 miles, ran a great race in the Rabobank Champion Hurdle, defeated behind Champion HURRICANE FLY. He was the only horse able to follow the champ but cound not get near him and finished 4 lenghts behind him in second. It's very rare that a horse can run at the top level in the same season from to 2 to 2 1/2 miles and it takes a good horse to do so. He could make a cracking novice chaser next season.
We bought him in a flat claimer at Saint Cloud for 38 000€

RUTHENOISE is struggling to break the ice over fences and finish a good 2nd at Aintree in the Southportairshow.com Novices' Chase. This hard pulling mare will need a sharper track to put her head in front but will definitely win a good race soon or later.2nd

FLYING TOMATO WON  AT BORDEAUX
Thursday, May 12th
 He was disapointing last sunday in a handicap on too sharp track won a good condition race at Bordeaux today defeating hot favourite SUERTEZ by 1 length. The son of BIG SHUFFLE is improving and could now be aiming for a B race at Lonchamp early june.

We bought him at the Osarus yearling sales for 10 000€
and he has now  raced 9 times for 2 wins and 5 places and earnings 45 000€

Arqana Breeze Up Sales 2011

We bought back this lovely and well bred son of ZAMINDAR for 51 000€. We purchased him as a yearling for 50 000€ and the fact that he was under a trainer's name and not a consigner made him difficult to sale. However this horse is an exceptionnal looker and works very promisingly at home .

He is still for sale in totality  for 55 000€ or a 1/2 share for 25 000€ as I would love  retaining the other half. The horse is in training with Thierry LEMER at La Teste (Bordeaux) and if everything goes according to plan he should be running  in August at Deauville or Clairefontaine.

Turnover up 27% and average up 20%
The ARQANA breeze up registered increases across the board for the 6th consecutive year, with a turnover of €7,096,000, a hike of 27%, and a medium price of €62,246 against €51,611 a year ago (+20%). The median price was up 25%, from €40,000 to €50,000, reflecting a general improvement in the price level. Indeed 20 lots fetched €100,000 or more, against 13 in 2010. Finally, the clearance rate settled over 80%, a rare feat at this type of sales.

A fantastic performance for FLASH DANCE when finishing 4th in Prix D'Ispahan Grade 1 today at Longchamp.
Pacemaker for the Champion mare GOLDIKOVA, who won her 13th Grade 1 race today, FLASH DANCE held on well to finish 4th defeating Grade 1 winners BYWORD, DICK TURPIN, LANDER etc...
We purchased her as a yearling at the Arqana October Yearling Sales for 18 000€

THOUSAND STARS finished 2nd in the Prix La Barka GR2
Sunday, May 29th
A very good performance for THOUSAND STARS at Auteuil  in the important Prix LA BARKA, Grade 2,. He finished 2nd to ROI DU VAL only beaten 2 lengths and that could open the door to a crack at the Champion Hurdle, Grade 1, at Auteuil in june where he could play a major part.
